“Life is more important than art; that's what makes art important.”

-James Baldwin

ABRIELLE MYERS is a media designer and animator.

I'm a junior Theatre Production and Design major at Arizona State University with a minor in film and media production. I love film and design and my skills include 3D modeling, animation, photo compositing, CAD modeling, and sound design. My first major project was Vision, a short film I produced and directed in 2021. I've work one 3 productions at ASU so far, included Heddatron (assistant media designer- Spring 2021), Healing Wars (co-media designer- Fall 2021), and the living life of the daughter mira (lead media designer- Spring 2022).

My passion is storytelling, which has been the driving force in everything I do. After all, a design is worth a thousand words.

WHY I DESIGN

I've always known that I wanted to be a storyteller, and that stories hold a universal value that not only helps to convey a message, but that can help people build connections. I officially started graphic design and video editing at 13, making book covers and trailers for stories I read online.

As a black woman, I think there are so many stories that haven't been shown, histories that have been lost, and voice that deserve to be heard. I am to showcase and represent different cultures, religions, and perspectives that are not commonly seen and portrayed in media.
